Candice graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. While at the University of Western Ontario, Candice was the captain of the varsity lightweight women’s rowing team winning several championship medals at both the Provincial and National levels. In her final year, Candice had the opportunity to work as the student athletic therapist for the varsity wrestling team where she assessed, treated and rehabilitated injuries sustained by the athletes.

In 2008, Candice earned her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy degree from the University of Toronto. During her years in the Physical Therapy program, Candice trained for, and raced in, several half marathons as a way to stay fit. She also volunteered as a student physiotherapist in the medical tent of the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon.

Since graduating from the University of Toronto, Candice has been working as a physiotherapist in several private practices throughout the Niagara Region. During her time in practice, Candice has had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations and injuries. These include acute and chronic injuries, repetitive strain disorders, sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents and WSIB claims. In an effort to stay up to date with current assessment and treatment practices,Candice has attended post-graduate courses dealing with the shoulder, cervical spine and lumbar spine through the Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute (APTEI). She has also taken courses on soft tissue release techniques, manual therapy for the fascia system, core stabilization and anatomical acupuncture.

Candice has always been an avid athlete. She has competed in many sports, including, jui-jitsu, volleyball, field hockey, wrestling, rowing, running, triathlon and most recently, cycling. For eleven years, Candice was a member of the St. Catharines Rowing Club during which time she won 7 Royal Canadian Henley Regatta Gold Medals.

In 2009, Candice switched her focus to competitive track and road cycling where she currently competes at the Provincial and National Level. Candice has won Gold Medals in the Sprint, Keirin and Team Sprint events at the Canadian National Track Cycling Championships. Since 2012, Candice has won numerous medals at the National and Provincial Championships and these performances earned her invitations to attend several National Team Development Camps.In 2013, Candice was selected for the Canadian National Cycling Team which competed at the Pan-Am Championships held in Mexico. Her ultimate goal would be to represent Canada at Major International Competitions, such as the World Championships, 2015 Pan-Am Games and 2016 Olympic Games.

As Candice works toward achieving her cycling goals, she looks forward to working with you to help you achieve your health and rehabilitation goals.
