Emery is a student in McMaster University’s Bachelor of Social Work Program. They have a passion for human rights, inclusivity and health promotion, especially as it concerns LGBTQIA2S+ rights. Their long-term goal is to work in crisis intervention with at-risk youth.
Emery was a competitive dancer from 2014-2018. During this time, they taught a variety of dance genres to students aged 2 and up. Although they were forced to give up dance due to health issues, Emery remains passionate about dance and working with children and youth.
As a non-binary aspiring social worker, Emery is extremely focused on breaking gender barriers and creating an environment where everyone can thrive regardless of how they identify. They care very much about LGBTQIA2S+ access to needed healthcare and are thrilled to work somewhere that emphasizes health promotion and enhances the quality of life of all patients.
When Emery is not working, they enjoy spending time at home with their boyfriend and best friend/roommate, along with their many cats. Their interests include musicals (Falsettos is a personal favourite), watching tv shows/movies, doing makeup, and playing video games.
